Butter a 9-inch tube pan. Line bottom of pan with waxed paper. Butter the waxed paper. Preheat oven to 300°. Mix flour and baking soda and sift. Set aside. In a large bowl, combine the eggs, mincemeat, mixed fruit and the nuts. Mix well. Add the dry ingredients. Stir well. Pour into the prepared pan and bake at 300° for 2 hours. Invert the pan and cool cake for an hour. Remove from pan and peel off the waxed paper. Use the small jar of cherries as a garnish for the top of the cake.
